Activitatile Etapei I/2017 a proiectului 192PED s-au axat pe studiul a doua specii de plante medicinale, Scirpoides holoschoenus si Helichrysum arenarium, in vederea evaluarii capacitatii biosintetice a unor principii active. Studiile au fost initiate dupa informatiile din etno-farmacie care sugereaza utilizarea acestora in fitoterapie. Cercetarile realizate au avut in vedere determinarea arealelor de crestere a speciilor respective pentru identificarea si evaluarea biomasei si mai ales, a transferului in cultura ecologica pentru a nu periclita habitatele naturale ale celor doua specii. Materia prima vegetala supusa conditionarii a fost folosita pentru studiul fitochimic, calitativ si cantitativ, si pentru elaborarea unui model experimental de extracie avansata a fractiunilor/principiilor active identificabile in speciile luate in studiu, concomitent cu studiul de extractie a compusilor utili din speciile analizate cu caracterizarea fitocomplecsilor (cercetare experimentala si de extractie) si elaborarea in vederea testarii a unor tipuri de extracte vegetale fluide. S-au analizat prin metode  cromatografice moderne (CSS, HPLC si GC-MS), FT-IR si spectrofotometrice principiile active de tip polifenolic, flavonoidic si terpenic (uleiuri volatile/fractiuni volatile). Extractele vegetale caracterizate fitochimic au fost testate in vederea evaluarii cito- si genotoxicitatii. Extractele contin numeroase clase de principii active ce demonstreaza potentialul biosintetic al speciilor luate in studiu.S-a realizat transferul in cultura la cele doua specii.Extractele testate nu au demonstrat efecte citotoxice.


TEVIS - Stage I/2017


The activities of Stage I/2017 of the 192PED project were focused on the study of two species of medicinal plants, Scirpoides holoschoenus and Helichrysum arenarium, in order to evaluate the biosynthetic capacity of some of the active principles. Our studies were initiated following some information from ethno-pharmacy which suggests their use in phytotherapy. Our studies aimed to determine the natural growing areas of the two species, to identify and evaluate the biomass and especially to transfer them in ecological culture - in order not to affect the natural habitats of the two species. The raw material subject to conditioning was used for phytochemical study (both qualitative and quantitative), and for the elaboration of an experimental model of advanced extraction of identifiable active fractions / principles in the studied species, concurrently with the study of the extraction of the useful compounds from the analysed species with the characterization of the phytocomplex (experimental and extraction research) and elaboration for testing of some types of fluid vegetal extracts. Active principles of polyphenolic, flavonoid, terpenic type (volatile oils / volatile fractions) were analysed by modern techniques using chromatographic methods (TLC, HPLC and GC-MS), FT-IR methods and spectrophotometric methods. Plant extracts (that have been phytochemically characterized) have been tested for cytotoxicity and genotoxicity. The extracts contain many classes of active principles demonstrating the biosynthetic potential of the species studied. The two species were transferred to culture. The extracts tested did not revealed cytotoxic effects.

In scopul valorificarii speciilor Scirpoides holoschoenus si Helichrysum arenarium s-a avut in vedere elaborarea de tehnologii avansate de cultivare, extractie, analiza si control, respectiv conditionarea extractelor in forma de capsule. In acest proiect, noutatea rezulta in primul rand din valorificarea potentialului biologic al celor doua specii asociate.

Pentru realizarea unei noi formule inovatoare de supliment alimentar utilizabil in sustinerea functiei hepatice, s-au luat in studiu cele doua specii vegetale intr-o asociere originala. Demonstrarea functionalitatii conceptului s-a realizat prin: tehnici de multiplicare experimentala pentru specia S. holoschoenus, prin elaborarea unor tipuri de extracte vegetale, testarea actiunii biologice si fitobiologice a extractelor vegetale. Testarea extractelor vegetale de H. arenarium si S. holoschoenus obtinute in diferite forme (fluide – hidroalcoolice, glicerinat si uscate) prin teste fitobiologice in vivo – pe celula vegetala cat si in vitro (actiune indirecta si actiune directa – pe celule hepatice umane) au furnizat date care au contribuit la elaborarea celor 3 produselor inovatoare sub forma de capsule, care inglobeaza extractele din cele doua specii (in diferite proportii).

Verificarea functionalitatii modelului si validarea la faza de laborator s-a realizat prin: stabilirea parametrilor culturii experimentale pentru specia S. holoschoenus, prin validarea tehnologiei de obtinere a extractelor vegetale, prin elaborarea formulelor de suplimente inovatoare in faza de laborator, cu testarea unor forme de conditionare (capsule). Aceasta forma de conditionare are avantajul unei administrari bune si usoare a dozei prestabilite de bio-componente, protejand fitocomplexul si, in acelasi timp asigura cedarea treptata a acestuia. Transferul in cultura a speciei S. holoschoenus permite obtinerea unei materii prime vegetale controlate si, in acelasi timp, conserva caracteristicile fondului de gene.

Dintre cele mai importante rezultate, cu impact asupra dezvoltarii bioeconomice a arealelor investigate, mentionam: ­ tehnologia de cultivare la specia S. holoschoenus – cu impact si asupra conservarii speciei/ arealelor naturale; ­ formulele de ceaiuri (7) ce au la baza speciile vegetale S. holoschoenus si H. arenarium (in asociere cu alte specii de plante medicinale si aromatice) cu potential antioxidant si de sustinere a functiei hepatice; ­ extracte fluide si uscate de S. holoschoenus si H. arenarium; ­ formule de suplimente alimentare inovatoare (3) elaborate la stadiu de laborator – conditionate sub forma de capsule, pe baza de extracte uscate din cele doua specii vegetale studiate.


TEVIS - Stage II/2018

For the capitalization of Scirpoides holoschoenus and Helichrysum arenarium species, the development of advanced cultivation, extraction, analysis and control technologies, and conditioning of the extracts as capsules extracts respectively, were envisaged. In this project, the novelty results primarily from exploiting the biological potential of the two associated species.

In order to develop new, innovative food supplement formulas with potential use in liver function maintenance, the two plant species were studied in an original combination. Demonstration of the functionality of the concept was achieved by: experimental multiplication techniques for S. holoschoenus species, by elaboration of some types of plant extracts, testing of biological and phytobiological action of the plant extracts. Testing of the different types of H. arenarium and S. holoschoenus plant extracts (fluids - hydroalcoholic, glycerinated and dried) by in vivo phytobiological tests - on plant model, and in vitro (indirect action and direct action on human liver cells) provided data that contributed to the development of the 3 innovative food formulas (capsules) that include the extracts of the two species (in different proportions).

Verifying of the model functionality and its validation at laboratory stage was achieved by: establishing the parameters of the experimental culture for S. holoschoenus, by validating the technology of obtaining the plant extracts, by developing the innovative formulations in the laboratory phase, testing some conditioning forms (capsules). This form of conditioning has the advantage of a good and easy administration of the predetermined dose of bio-components, protecting the phytocomplex and at the same time ensuring its gradual release. The transfer of the S. holoschoenus species into the culture allows the obtaining of controlled plant material and at the same time preserves the characteristics of the gene pool.

Among the most important results, with an impact on the bioeconomic development of the investigated areas, we mention: cultivation technology for S. holoschoenus species - with impact on the preservation of the species / natural areas; tea formulas (7) based on S. holoschoenus and H. arenarium (in combination with other medicinal and aromatic herbs) with antioxidant potential and support of liver function; fluid and dry extracts of S. holoschoenus and H. arenarium; innovative food supplements formulas (3) developed at laboratory stage - conditioned capsules based on dry extracts from the two studied plant species.
